First of all, I just want to say that I am already excited for Matt & Shila’s wedding next summer! They’re both super creative people, and have come up with lots of ideas to incorporate their talents and vision into planning a wedding that will show their personalities!
Example No. One:
They die-cut letters so we could take a shot for their Save-the-Date cards. I won’t put the photo they’re going to use up on here (you’ll just have to hope you’re lucky enough to get one of your own!), but I got some great shots of them stringing the letters up. We did the first part of the shoot behind my house/studio, and my cats were quite excited about the venture, so we had lots of company!
I always want to have at least one photograph each shoot that makes me feel like the whole shoot would have been worth it even if that was the only shot I came away with. For this session, this was that image. LOVE IT!
Matt has been one of my best friends since I was in high school (I’m still giving him a hard time for not agreeing to be a bridesman for my wedding
– I think that he would have looked great in the purple dress I picked out… ), so I got lots of pictures of him goofing off during the session! You’ll have to ask him if you want to see the rest of them!
For the second part of their session, we headed to downtown Kokomo to get some photos with a different feel to them.
Also, who just shows up with a bag of custom props for their engagement session!? It was lots of fun trying to incorporate them – and I love how the ‘&’ matches Shila’s shoes!
He even picked a flower to put in her hair… How romantic!
And my favorite prop shot!

SO STINKING CUTE!!! Great job as always, Liz. Can’t wait to see the save the date pic!
The ampersand was a pretty sweet prop. Great pics.
“who just shows up with a bag of custom props for their engagement session!?”
The answer to that is either
A. Someone who reads way too many wedding blogs
B. Someone very creative
C. Shila
D. All of the above
I bugged Matt for weeks about making these. I’m really glad that we did, because the pictures turned out so great!
Oooh! I know! D! The answer is D!
And I’m glad you did too – they were super fun to work with!
PDA, GROSS!!! haha Nice pics liz. Don’t worry, I’ll save the date just for you guys!
Thanks for all the compliments, everyone!
